We seek highly motivated and independent drug discovery individuals to join our team as a Sr. Scientist/Director to advance our medicinal chemistry programs. The successful candidates will need to have proven track record of accomplishments demonstrating sound knowledge, technical skills, independent thinking, scientific creativity as well as delivering innovative clinical candidates in the areas of serious genetic, metabolic, and cancer diseases.

Responsibilities:

1.Lead and develop medicinal chemistry team;

2.Lead new programs in medicinal chemistry and collaborate with other cross-function teams to advance the programs and to build and expend company’s innovative drug discovery pipeline;

3.Design and synthesis complex organic molecules via multi-step synthesis, as well as perform SAR studies to advance the molecules as potential drug candidates.

4.Prepare and deliver scientific presentations and reports within and outside the company;

5.Participate and prepare patent and regulatory filings;

6.Manage scientists/research associates.

Qualifications:

1.PhD in synthetic organic chemistry with at least 4 years of medicinal chemistry experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry;

2.Strong working knowledge and experience in design and execution of multistep synthesis;

3.Strong and independent problem-solving skills;

4.Publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and patent applications;

5.Strong ability in gathering all sorts of information from various sources (including but not limited to research papers, patents, meetings) to guide program strategy;

6.Proven track record of advancing new medicinal chemistry program to drug discovery pipeline;

7.Proven leadership capability in cross-functional teams;

8.Thorough understanding in fundamental aspects of drug discovery and demonstrated ability to advance drug discovery programs are required;

9.Strong verbal and written communication skills and team work ethics are required;

10.Process chemistry experience is a plus.
